Satan gives the Beast, An Apocalyptic  stateman figure, his power, throne, and great authority

Revelation 11:6-7 ASV
(6)  These have the power to shut the heaven, that it rain not during the days of their prophecy: and they have power over the waters to turn them into blood, and to smite the earth with every plague, as often as they shall desire.
(7)  And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that cometh up out of the abyss shall make war with them, and overcome them, and kill them.

Revelation 13:1-2 ASV
(1)  and he stood upon the sand of the sea. And I saw a beast coming up out of the sea, having ten horns and seven heads, and on his horns ten diadems, and upon his heads names of blasphemy.
(2)  And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his throne, and great authority.

Revelation 12:9 ASV
And the great dragon was cast down, the old serpent, he that is called the Devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world; he was cast down to the earth, and his angels were cast down with him.

Revelation 13:11-18 ASV
(11)  And I saw another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like unto a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.
(12)  And he exerciseth all the authority of the first beast in his sight. And he maketh the earth and them that dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose death-stroke was healed.
(13)  And he doeth great signs, that he should even make fire to come down out of heaven upon the earth in the sight of men.
(14)  And he deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by reason of the signs which it was given him to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast who hath the stroke of the sword and lived.
(15)  And it was given unto him to give breath to it, even to the image of the breast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as should not worship the image of the beast should be killed.
(16)  And he causeth all, the small and the great, and the rich and the poor, and the free and the bond, that there be given them a mark on their right hand, or upon their forehead;
(17)  and that no man should be able to buy or to sell, save he that hath the mark, even the name of the beast or the number of his name.
(18)  Here is wisdom. He that hath understanding, let him count the number of the beast; for it is the number of a man: and his number is Six hundred and sixty and six.

Revelation 17:7-8 ASV
(7)  And the angel said unto me, Wherefore didst thou wonder? I will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carrieth her, which hath the seven heads and the ten horns.
(8)  The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and is about to come up out of the abyss, and to go into perdition. And they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, they whose name hath not been written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast, how that he was, and is not, and shall come.

The wild beast of Apocalypse is the man of Satan (Revelation 13:2) on a throne (government because it is written that the dragon gave him his throne) with great authority (because Satan gave him his great authority), who wages a holy war against those of the faith (belief) of Jesus (because, in the holy war, the beast will kill the saints who witness Jesus, who believe in the faith of Jesus and keep His commandments (Revelation 20:4) as defined in Galatians 2:6).

And when they complete their witness, the beast coming up out of the abyss will make war with them, and will overcome them, and will kill them. Revelation 11:7 LITV

Here is wisdom. The one having the mind tally the number of the beast; [a number for of a man it is], and his number is 600 60 6 (Revelation 13:18 ABP)

And the beast which I saw was likened to a leopard, and his feet as a bear, and his mouth as a mouth of a lion. And [gave to him the dragon] his power, and his throne, and [authority great]. Revelation 13:2 ABP

Revelation 20:4 ASV
(4)  And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that had been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus, and for the word of God, and such as worshipped not the beast, neither his image, and received not the mark upon their forehead and upon their hand; and they lived, and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

Highlights of the beasts of Daniel and Apocalypse

The lion was given a man's heart, the bear devours flesh, the leopard was given dominion. The fourth is different than the aforementioned beasts. The beast of Apocalypse shares traits of the four beasts of Daniel: was like unto a leopard that was giving dominion, and his feet were as the feet of a bear that devours flesh, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion that was made to stand upon two feet as a man; and a man's heart was given to it: and the dragon gave him his power, and his throne, and great authority, ten horns. Hence, as the prophecy says, the beast of Apocalypse is a man with a heart (lion), who devours much flesh of the saints he does kill (bear), and who was given by the dragon (Satan) great dominion (leopard) in a throne or government, miracle powers, and great authority. Note that whatever the beasts may do was given to them, or was permitted to them by Jesus (God). Jesus is in control.
First: Lion

The first was like a lion, and had eagle's wings: I beheld till the wings thereof were plucked, and it was lifted up from the earth, and made to stand upon two feet as a man; and a man's heart was given to it.  Daniel 7:4 ASV

Second: Bear

And, behold, another beast, a second, like to a bear; and it was raised up on one side, and three ribs were in its mouth between its teeth: and they said thus unto it, Arise, devour much flesh.  Daniel 7:5 ASV

Third: Leopard

After this I beheld, and, lo, another, like a leopard, which had upon its back four wings of a bird; the beast had also four heads; and dominion was given to it.  Daniel 7:6 ASV

Compare: The 4th beast of Daniel and the beast of Apocalypse

Daniel 7:7-8 ASV
(7)  After this I saw in the night-visions, and, behold, a fourth beast, terrible and powerful, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth; it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with its feet: and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns. (8) I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another horn, a little one, before which three of the first horns were plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of a man, and a mouth speaking great things.

Revelation 13:1-3 ASV
(1)  and he stood upon the sand of the sea. And I saw a beast coming up out of the sea, having ten horns and seven heads, and on his horns ten diadems, and upon his heads names of blasphemy.
(2)  And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his throne, and great authority.
(3)  And I saw one of his heads as though it had been smitten unto death; and his death-stroke was healed: and the whole earth wondered after the beast;

The beast speaks blasphemies against God

Since the beast speaks blasphemies against God, we can identify which man of authority, with a throne (government) who kills the saints of God in his wars with them, the beast turns out to be.

Meditate on the verses of Revelation 13:5-8.

Revelation 13:5-8 DRB
(5)  And there was given to him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies: and power was given to him to do, two and forty months.
(6)  And he opened his mouth unto blasphemies against God, to blaspheme his name and his tabernacle and them that dwell in heaven.
(7)  And it was given unto him to make war with the saints and to overcome them. And power was given him over every tribe and people and tongue and nation.
(8)  And all that dwell upon the earth adored him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb which was slain from the beginning of the world.

What is blasphemy?
Jesus was accused of blasphemy because He was caught forgiving sins, among other things, and acting as if He is YHWH God. Speaking against God (Jesus) should be easy to understand. Did the serpent in Eden speak against God when He counters God (Jesus) in telling Eve that will not die? Yes, he did. Therefore, whichever lamb-like power on earth (Revelation 13:11) with a man heading a government (the throne of Satan) who speaks like a dragon blasphemies or doctrines against God, thus, opposing doctrines against the law of God in Moses, the words of the Prophets, or the words of Jesus, pretending to be of the faith (belief) of Jesus (Revelation 2:9), this man is the beast of Apocalypse.

Matthew 26:64-65 DRB
(64) Jesus saith to him: Thou hast said it. Nevertheless I say to you, hereafter you shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of the power of God and coming in the clouds of heaven. (65)  Then the high priest rent his garments, saying: He hath blasphemed: What further need have we of witnesses? Behold, now you have heard the blasphemy.

John 10:33 DRB
(33)  The Jews answered him: For a good work we stone thee not, but for blasphemy: and because that thou. being a, man, makest thyself God.

Revelation 2:9 ABP
(9) I know your works, and affliction, and poorness, (but [rich you are]) and the blasphemy of the ones calling [to be Jews themselves], and are not, but a synagogue of Satan.

Mark 2:5-8 ASV
(5)  And Jesus seeing their faith saith unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins are forgiven.
(6)  But there were certain of the scribes sitting there, and reasoning in their hearts, (7)  Why doth this man thus speak? he blasphemeth: who can forgive sins but one, even God?
(8)  And straightway Jesus, perceiving in his spirit that they so reasoned within themselves, saith unto them, Why reason ye these things in your hearts?

Luke 5:20-21 ASV
(20)  And seeing their faith, he said, Man, thy sins are forgiven thee.
(21)  And the scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, Who is this that speaketh blasphemies? Who can forgive sins, but God alone?

In our time or in the past, did the Americans, the Chinese, the Russians, or any other power on earth, have their chief of state (president, et cetera) speaking blasphemies against God who made wars with and killed the holy ones of God, then disappeared in history because he was dealt a deadly blow but resurges again as the same persecuting power after which man the whole world is in admiration?

Revelation 13:9-10 ASV
(9)  If any man hath an ear, let him hear.
(10)  If any man is for captivity, into captivity he goeth: if any man shall kill with the sword, with the sword must he be killed. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.
